MASSIVE BIODIVERSITY DATABASE AVAILABLE

A massive biodiversity database is now available to scientists and will assist them to monitor the loss of species globally (and areas of concern).

Biodiversity is being lost worldwide, but some areas are particularly badly affected. This map shows the remaining populations of indigenous species as a percentage of their original populations. Blue areas are within proposed safe limits, and red areas are beyond. The map was created from data held in the PREDICTS database.

This is a really fascinating read.
